I love watching others eat while I’m fasting

It’s my guilty pleasure in Ramadan

As a Muslim, apart from being subjected to Islamophobia the whole year, the month of Ramadan is a time when light is shed on the community. Yes, we take a break from making hand bombs and putting mascara on our eyes, fasting each day for the whole month. Anyone curious about Ramadan can check out my detailed article.

Watching stereotypical Muslims in Hollywood movies, it seems like Hollywood hasn’t discovered that they are Muslims outside of Saudi Arabia as well. Such as a Pakistani who likes to watch other people eat fancy food when he is lying on an empty stomach for 10 hours.

I am that one Muslim. My food intake on usual days is pathetically low. I am so thin that when I once joined a gym, my trainer requested I gain weight. Well, his diet included 10 eggs a day for me while my actual consumption had negative 1 egg a day (I would lay 1 egg every day, it's a long story). All of this context is given just to tell you that I eat lower than an average person.

Ramadan is the time of the year when a banana has more value than gold. But fasting means you can’t eat or drink…
