In Wake of Taylor Swift’s Endorsement of Kamala Harris, Trump Supporters Vow to Kneel While Attending Future Eras Tour Shows
“Knees for Trump” Movement Emerges Following Music Superstar’s Surprise Endorsement Post
Supporters of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump vowed to seek retribution against entertainment superstar Taylor Swift following her surprise endorsement this week of Democratic party presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris. In addition to the usual ranting and spreading of conspiracy theories, MAGA supporters are pledging to “take a knee” at some point while attending upcoming tour stops of Swift’s Eras Tour.
“If Taylor thinks she can be against Donald Trump without paying a price, she is wrong as John Mayer thinking ‘Dear John’ was about him!” said self-proclaimed Super Swiftie Marjorie Duncan. “After I drive the 1300 miles from my hometown of Kissimmee, Florida to Toronto for her show, I will definitely take a knee during one of her slower ballads.”
When asked if still attending her concert wasn’t actually supporting Swift, Duncan snapped “Hello? Am I supposed to not see The Eras Tour? I’m upset about Taylor hating America and apparently being fine with people eating pets and using just delivered babies to clog up fracking holes, but I’m not crazy!”
The overnight emergence of the kneeling campaign appears to be a blatant rip-off of the silent protest initiated by then-San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick who in 2016 protested police violence and created a movement by kneeling on the sideline during the playing of the National Anthem.
“I was against Kaepernick disrespecting the flag over police shootings or whatever but the kneeling did get attention,” said conservative social media influencer and “Knees for Trump” leader MAGA Mike. “So look for Trump Nation to be taking knees while paying $1500 and up to see her spectacular show.”
“I’ve seen five shows on this magical, record-shattering tour,” explained MAGA Mike. “But enough is enough! So, in New Orleans, Vancouver and Indianapolis, when she looks out from that that incredible stage, while wearing some breathtaking outfit during her always amazing acoustic set, she may well see me taking a knee for Trump. Fight! Fight! Fight!”
“I’m so disappointed in TayTay,” lamented fan Candy Jones. “I already told my four kids in no uncertain terms that we WILL be taking a knee at some point while waiting in the merch line at Hard Rock Stadium.”
It remains to be seen what impact if any “Knees for Trump” will have on the outcome of the upcoming presidential election, but it is clear that Swift’s endorsement post on Instagram (which was approaching 10 million “likes” at the time of this reporting) has enraged a swath of the former president’s avid supporters.
“When will these Hollywood celebrities stop hating on Donald Trump?” lamented TikTok user Midnightz in a tearful video post. “I swear that when I saw her post, I was nearly tempted to take the Tortured Poets Department tumbler, Speak Now playing cards, Eras Tour nail gems and Midnights blankets right out of my online shopping cart! I mean, I didn’t but still.”
