With the sweeping revival of 90s TV show-reboots, movies, music and fashion, MTV and VH1 have partnered to bring Generation X’ers a full-on blast of nostalgia. Combining the young, hopeful story of The Little Mermaid with the emo, angry grunge and edgy humor of the early 1990’s, Live Action Little Mermaid for Generation X will feel like a step back in time! This is the perfect family event to sing along, and explore the powerful themes of identity, love and ironic, indie cultural overtake.

For one night only, see the ‘tail’ of Ariel (played by Gwen Stefani before she married that country music star) dive into the 1990s waters, find a butterfly clip, and yearn to be ‘part of your alt world’. Listen as Ariel pleads with King Triton, portrayed by Eddie Vedder, in the heart wrenching song “I’m Just a Girl in the Water…That’s All That You’ll Let Me Be.”

You’ll love seeing Prince Eric played in alternate performances by Chris Kattan/Jay Mohr/Pauly Shore/Rob Schneider in this incredible re-make of the cartoon movie you definitely watched as a kid after trying to find that hidden penis in the VHS cover.

You remember the story, but you’ve never seen it quite like this! Featuring new technology barely available when you were growing up, you’ll be amazed to see Marge Simpson’s rendition of wicked sea witch Ursula, who makes a deal with Ariel she can’t refuse. After Ariel is forced to trade in her voice, check out Flotsam and Jetsam played by Roseanne Barr and Paula Poundstone as they collaborate on Ursula’s debut CD, ‘Now That’s What I Call Body Language 2'.

If you loved Andrew Dice Clay onstage as a comedian, wait until you see him in Live Action Little Mermaid for Generation X as Sebastian. “Darling It’s Better Down Where You’re Wetter” will make you reminisce about Clay’s old school, totally 90s comedy mojo.

Get ready to rock with Vedder during his confrontation with Ursula, and try not to headbang along with his original song “Ariel Spoke In….The Water Today”. Rounding out the cast as Ariel’s best friends are 90’s favorites Howard ‘The Fartman’ Stern as Flounder, and MTV VJ Simon Rex as Scuttle.

So, check your hard copy of TV Guide for this once in a lifetime event!
