Take down that sign was the demand

In what the majority of Americans feel is the most sophisticated five blocks in the country a billboard advertising cookies promoting lactation in pregnant mothers was ordered to be taken down.

Expecting Molly Baz, cookbook author, created a series of ads with the company Swehl to advertise her recipe for lactation cookies. It was prominantly displayed in New York city’s Times Square along with other billboards showing beautiful models, male and female, skimpily clad in both under and outerwear from the likes of: Calvin Kline, Victoria’s Secret, Skims and Michael Kors.

It appears that a double standard exists in that a sexualized breast is acceptable and a lactating or nursing one is not.

Ms Baz pointed out to the New York Post; Times Square Billboards showing skin is not a new concept and she theorized that the image of a pregnant woman showing her skin was what got the billboard pulled.

“Take one look at the landscape of the other billboards in Times Square and I think you’ll see the irony. Bring on the lingerie so long as it satiates the male gaze.” she observed.

“As the day progressed yesterday, certainly Betsy and I became really incensed,” said Elizabeth Myer who co-founded Swehl with Betsy Riley.
