Oct. 14, 2022 What a difference a year makes! When we arrived at Mountain Lake Resort in the fall of 2021, my partner had just lost the business she’d started the month before the pandemic. We were both feeling pretty low, but after a few days surrounded by the glorious red, orange, and gold that is this mountain in the fall, we were restored. MLR sent us home feeling so recharged that I quit my own job and the two of us followed our dream of owning a pet-friendly coffee shop and performance venue. We almost didn’t come this year, because, well, no money for gas and meals now! None at all! But we’re living with my brother, the one who’s a homophobe, not the other one, and we had to get away for a while. What are credit cards for, right?

Dec. 15, 2022 I saw snow for the first time when I was here with my parents years ago, and now my son has seen snow for the first time here this week with me! Words cannot express the wonders of Mountain Lake Resort! We don’t leave for two more days, and already I miss this place.

Except for your toilet paper. Dear God, where do you find that stuff? You should warn people to bring some hygiene products…creams…something…
