It’s never too soon to get your toddler reading the writing on the wall.

A is for Apartheid, barbaric and wack

A policy racists want to bring back.

B is for Bank, a savings and trust

That safeguards your money until they go bust.

C is for Constitution that governs our lives

Written by freedom fighters who owned their wives.

D is for Democracy that makes our land great

And is slowly eroding into a fascist state.

E is for Economics, distributing wealth without hitch

Based on free market pressures to favor the rich.

F is for Flat-earther who puts his reliance

In conspiracy theories over hard science.

G is for Gold which an investor stashes

In case the dollar suddenly crashes.

H is for Humanity, which lies at our core

And which we traded on our quest to own more.

I is for Immigrants coming to the USA

To take all the jobs no one wanted anyway.

J is for Judge whose rulings depend

On which side has the most money to spend.

K is for Kindness, we must never forget

Except when ranting on the internet.

L is for Lawyers, the guardians of power

Who defend the poor for 500 an hour.

M is for Money which defines success

And which completely corrupts the political process.

N is for Narcissism, an ego distortion

That is currently at epidemic proportion.

O is for Oligarch, operating in stealth,

Controlling the banks and hoarding his wealth.

P is for Pharmaceutical Industry whose labs perfect

A pill for every side effect.

Q is for Quality, not highly regarded

In a disposable age, an aim we discarded.

R is for Rationalization, a brilliant insight

That explains why our actions are undoubtedly right.

S is for Schools, so learned and grand

Where children read books that haven’t been banned.

T is for Taxes, the cost of democracy,

Which pay for our kick-backs, waste, and bureaucracy.

U is for Universal Healthcare, which we can’t afford

Because all our money was sent far abroad.

V is for Villification, a weapon of info wars

To aim at people with views different from yours.

W is for War, which is never won nor lost

But goes on and on at never ending cost.

X is for Xenophobia, an ignorant trait

That racists believe make America great.

Y is for Yacht, which costs quite a lot

To let people know you’ve got more than they got.

Z is for Zealots who know they are right

And justified in anything that wins their fight.

Reading is fundamental, baby!
