The biggest snowfall to hit the northeast in twenty years is due to hit the region beginning today at four pm. Experts agree that the snow will be primarily outdoors, and that those people who are indoors will not be affected unless they lose power, in which case they’ll still be un-snowed upon.

“Covering your face and also the rest of your body with a building or other indoor-type space is the safest way to protect yourself from snow, which occurs primarily outdoors,” said Johnny Wind, storm expert. “After doing extensive testing on all kinds of snow storm situations, we’ve found that being outdoors gives you a much greater chance of having the snow affect you. If you’re outdoors, the snow can land on your body, on your clothes, on your shopping bags, on your truck. Within minutes, you can be covered in snow and if you’re not moving for some reason, you could die of hypothermia.”

Many people in the area are heeding Mr. Wind’s warnings about staying indoors, but others refuse to let ‘big nature’ rule their lives.

“If I want to go out in the snow, I’ll go out in the snow. I might even just sit down in it, without moving, and let the snow completely…
