Here’s the saddest thing you’ll hear today: a 33-year-old man from Alderbranch, Texas has never tasted a Quesadilla Explosion Salad. Whoa.

According to his wife, Greg Ward is afraid to go to the new Chili’s in the Anderson County Mall because the staff might start talking to him in Spanish, and Greg doesn’t know that language.

This Tex-Mex classic chain restaurant is a favorite amongst many Americans. From their baby back ribs to their sizzling fajita skillets, Chili’s is a beacon of diversity and honors many culinary traditions South of the border.

In most American Chili’s restaurants, servers speak English with their customers. However, you have to admit, it would be scary if the waiters started suddenly speaking in another language. Especially if you’re Greg Ward, and you don’t even know any Spanish at all. Not even from high school or anything like that.

Apparently, Greg’s wife Linda tried to get him to have dinner at Chili’s after several hours of shopping one Sunday afternoon. Linda even checked into the Anderson County Mall location on Facebook, saying “I can’t wait to eat at Chili’s Grill & Bar, a Family Restaurant.”

Bad move, Linda.

Greg begged her to delete her status immediately, stating that if the servers started talking in Spanish to him, his throat might close up on account of him being nervous. Greg then reminded Linda that they still had some lasagna in the freezer at home.

Linda reports that the two are considering an investment in Rosetta Stone Spanish to prepare for another trip to the Anderson County Mall Chili’s before Greg’s heart gets all bad like his dad’s did when he turned 45.

Buena suerte, Greg and Linda!
