it’s okay to be hurt

i sometimes forget to feel
sometimes, it’s hard to heal
the skies smile at me
but empty patches is all i see

i sometimes get pulled away
sometimes, i lose my way
they grab me by my hands
but they won’t understand

that sometimes it just hurts
sometimes, that’s the way it works
and even when it’s all okay
it’s painful to get through the day

i won’t lie, i’m not fine
this life doesn’t feel like mine
sometimes, that’s just how i feel
sometimes, it’s hard to heal
