This is it!

Tempt not the esteem,
when most poets opt to be seen—
with better tempos, smitten themes,
ethos so rotten…

not the poem to be gotten.
So, entomb one’s better words.
Throw men and women to the sheep,
not the wit in beat poets.

However… when one is beset with boos…
the imposter writes new tropes.
Then the tempest seethes
where their bitter emotions stomp on
the hope in me.

I wish to them —
these posers, vipers, whoever —
to remember this time when I weep,
remember this sweet poet,
remember this poem.
