SUPPORTING THE TROOPS
The British Are Coming and They’re Very Fine People
Paul Revere and the movement to Make Britain Great Again
It was a dank, wet April night when Paul Revere was called to the house of Dr. Joseph Warren. He had been summoned to discuss important events in the deepening quarrel between the Crown and the American colonists, a conflict in which he was eager to play his part.
He knocked on the door, and in a moment, Warren answered.
“Come in, Paul, and remove your wet garments. 'Tis a night fit for neither man nor beast.”
“Indeed, Joseph. Had I walked but another half mile, I might have drowned.” He chuckled at his joke and removed his great-coat and his red tricorn hat, which had the letters MBGA embroidered on it.
Warren wrinkled his brow. “Those letters…”
Revere looked down at the hat, “Make Britain Great Again. Rachel did a fine job, did she not?”
Warren furrowed his brow.
“We have been friends for many years, Paul, so please do not take this amiss, but I had understood you to be a Patriot sympathizer.”
“Oh indeed, indeed. Rest assured, I wish only the best for the colonies and the noble people here.”
