The Day I Wished a Deaf Girl Was Also Dumb, or at Least Blind

Until the third year of elementary school, I studied at excellent schools, all of them very, very far from my home.

But the stress of spending two hours in the school van (I was the first to be picked up and the last to be delivered) began to take its toll. Finally, my mother gave in to my requests and placed me in a new school close to home.
