There’s definitely nothing great about getting a divorce…

I noticed this lady on the train recently
reading The Great Divorce,
by C.S. Lewis.

I wonder how many people,
when seeing that title,

automatically assume it’s a self-help book
for people who are trying to heal
from broken marriages.

There’s definitely nothing great
about getting a divorce.

It’s only an ugly conclusion
to a winless war.

The cost is enormous. The tears are numerous.
But the alternative (staying married)
may be far worse.
