The name was actually recorded in 1401 as “Uggele” and possibly means “woodland clearing of a man named Ugga”. I once knew a guy named Ugmo, a moniker he was given because it was said that he couldn’t “be anymo ugly.” Poor guy.

It’s reported that the town is much more lively than it sounds, especially on August 9th, which was declared Boring and Dull Day in Dull’s sister town of Boring, Oregon, USA.
