This Won’t Take Long
Last week was a “not enough time week”. Most days I know what I plan to do when I’m having my first cup of coffee. More coffee is definitely on the list. No problem with that. My coffee machine makes a cup in less than two minutes.
Unfortunately, that week coffee was only the sure thing I accomplished. Pulled out a file of “to dos” and found something I could accomplish rather quickly. Felt pretty good.
But I turned over the page and exclaimed “darn it”. Ok, anyone who knows me knows my response would never have been that mild. I had forgotten about something that had an ASAP written in red and underlined.
Ok. Got that done and got back to job one. My email beeped. A bill that needed to be paid. That shouldn’t take long. And it wouldn’t have if I hadn’t needed to reset my password. What did they mean they didn’t recognize my email? They had just sent the notice to me!
Forty-five minutes later the bill was paid. Then they had the nerve to ask if I’d complete a survey.
OK. Needed to print out my latest too long manuscript. First, there was no internet connection. I hit the button three times- ah, connected. Pressed print-out of toner. Replaced toner. Hit print. Again, no connection. Repeatedly slammed my finger on to the little “evil” funny looking button. Printing began. Got message-out of paper. Looked high and low, turned my office upside down-no more paper. Cancelled print and went get more paper.
That was Monday. The rest of the week were a clone of that day.
