Dearly beloved, I’m motivational minister Spyder Darling and here are the top ten things for which I am thankful today, Supersonic Sunday, December, 22, 2024. Time to get down and pray the Dallas Caballeros can somehow beat the Tampa Baker Mayfields AKA the Buccaneers tonight. Meanwhile, today, as every day remember, gratitude is the attitude!

  1. Life! If you were lucky enough to wake up today. Be grateful because a great many weren’t so fortunate. And today we honor the great American blues singer Gertrude “Ma” Rainey. The self proclaimed “Mother of the Blues” and subject of the 2020 film (and 1982 play) Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom passed away on this day from a heart attack in 1939 at the age of 53. Ma may be gone, but her music lives on. Click here to hear her sing her classic “See See Rider” from way back in 1924.
  2. A space heater. Winter started yesterday and it’s not joking around. No soft opening for NYC, which saw it’s first snow of the season. And for some reason it was a not so roasty-toasty 55 degrees inside my Chelsea bunker this morning. Thankfully I still have a space heater gifted to me by my former Detox Darlings band mate Charles “Lead Guitar Superstar” Darling many years ago that comes in right on cue, just like Sir Charles used to.
