Top Five Winter Workouts
Baby, it’s cold AF outside. But that’s no excuse to let your fitness slide.
Huddle up team! Impersonal trainer Spyder Darling here to remind you that just because the outside temperature has dropped to the alcohol level of light beer, is no excuse to let your body and mental state deteriorate from lack of physical activity. After all, as I say in The Tao of Spyder #16 “A run a day keeeps the crazies away.” Or in the case of living in NYC being in shape can help you run from the crazies if necessary. That said, here are some sweaty suggestions to help stay in shape so you’re ready for Speedo season starting Memorial Day.
- Set up a home workout area. It doesn’t take much. A few hand weights, maybe a kettle bell or two, an ab roller and a yoga mat should do. An interval timer app or a Gym Boss gizmo comes in handy too. You don’t have to kill yourself, 10 sets of a minute’s work with 45 seconds rest twill keep you guilt free. And if you can do more, then feel free to top your best score. But dial it up gradually and ease back if you find yourself waking up too sore.
