Earn 1 point for all the everyday things we used to do, every day
Hey there, I’m Spyder Darling and you might know me from my four part Tao Of Spyder series in which I impart the life lessons I have life lessons I have learned from the cruelest teacher of all. Experience.
Recently, I was thinking back on my 63 and counting spins around the sun. It occurred to me there are a few rituals I no longer do. Then I thought, maybe the same is true for you.
In which case, get out your trusty Bic pen and and the back of a bank statement from 2016 (hey, you never know when you might need to prove to the electric company that they cashed your check that month) and give yourself one point for each of the following arcane activities that you too used to do.
- Used a rotary phone (1 point each for desk, wall and pay phone)
- Inserted a floppy disk
- Written on a typewriter (2 points for manual)
- Taken pictures with a camera that used stuff called film that you had to buy and pay to have developed.
- Listened to music on a CD (2 points for vinyl, 3 points for cassette, 4 points for 8-track).
- Made a “mix-tape”
- Owned a Walkman
