Why Cat Ladies Make Better Leaders Than Mansplainers
Eight good reasons
Republican Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance made a comment* about America “being run by a bunch of childless cat ladies,” sounding the alarm on presidential candidate, Kamala Harris, by warning that she is one of them.
In a very recent Fox News interview,* Donald Trump shared the reason why he picked JD Vance as his VP candidate:
“Well,…he really does well among a certain group of people — people that like families. He made a statement having to do with families. That doesn’t mean that people who are a member of a big and beautiful family with 400 children around and everything else, that doesn’t mean that…He’s not against anything, but he loves family. It’s very important to him. He grew up in a very interesting family situation, and he feels family is good.”
How many times can a person say “family” in one sentence?
For the record, that quote is neither a typo nor intended as satire — it is the verbatim transcript of Trump’s latest interview.
I also remember a writer and editor on Medium writing a leadership quality piece where he states emphatically that having children is an essential requirement for being a good leader. There are so many things wrong with this argument I wouldn’t even know where to begin. I’ll just state the obvious:
If being a parent were a remedy for bad leadership, we’d be living on a very different planet right now.
Let me outline eight good reasons none of these people have any idea what they are talking about and why having a cat lady for president might turn out to be the best thing for the country and the world.
- Mansplainers don’t know where their bodies end and another one begins. For example, they think they know what’s best for a woman’s body. They don’t. End of debate.
- Cat Ladies don’t spend their time talking about what men should do with their bodies. They appear to have a sense of decency and boundaries and more important things to do.
