With Lifted COVID Restrictions, Local Woman Looks Forward To Once Again Consoling Crying Coworkers In Bathroom At Office Holiday Party

With the holiday season upon us, Karen McGilvery, a local mid-level advertising executive, is excited to once again have the opportunity to listen to her perennially single coworkers prattle on about their relationship woes at this year‘s holiday office party.

“It’s what I missed most of all during the COVID-19 lockdowns,” states McGilvery, 32, acknowledging that last year’s online party and Microsoft Teams breakout rooms afforded neither the privacy nor open bar needed for her to receive professionally inappropriate insight into the dating lives of her direct reports.

While the return to in-person salacious gossip is welcome news indeed, McGilvery admits to being less pleased with the accompanying inevitable return of the close-talking advances of Steve from sales.
