You might be a cat lady if…
And there’s nothing crazy about it.
1. You talk to your cats
I greet my cats each morning and also say goodbye to them before I leave the house. This is something that most cat owners can relate to. I make a point of saying goodbye to each cat — no Irish exits here.
I do that partly because I want to do a headcount but also because I don’t want them to worry that I’ve abandoned them.
Sometimes, I ask one of my cats if they’ve seen their cat-sister. They usually stare back at me like they’ve taken a blood oath and can never give up that intel. In that way, my cats are bonded like CIA operatives protecting the world against fascist dictators.
But, If one of them knocks over a lamp or breaks a glass by knocking it off a table, they will rat out their fellow cat sister especially if it might stand in the way of them being fed or getting treats.
2. You buy certain things because your cat will like them.
I have a collection of snuggly-soft pillows and blankets I’ve purchased simply because I think my cats might like them or want to nap on them. They seldom do. They each have their tried and true favorite napping spot.
