Praise God, food is a feast
for the body and soul
the aromas make our mouth water
thanking God in anticipation

By His grace, with our eyes we savor
the burst of colors and textures
and with our heart
reminisce fond memories

God provides cutlery and crockery
our opposable thumbs allow us to touch and lift
what many animals can’t!
should we not stop and glorify our Master?

Orchestra of colors, textures, aromas and flavors
singing the praises of our Lord
our tongues the conductors
our teeth keeping the rhythm

As we drink water, though colorless,
delicious and refreshing
and reviving after fasting
We praise God who renews & keeps it sweet

As we eat and digest, may God direct us to appreciate
all the love that goes into growing and preparing,
the lives that sustain us
and the Creator who subdued them for us

[Quran 15:22] And we send the winds as pollinators, and cause water to come down from the sky for you to drink. Otherwise, you could not keep it palatable.

[Quran 16:5] And He created the livestock for you, to provide you with warmth, and many other benefits, as well as food.

Signs of God
[Quran 36:33–36] One sign for them is the dead land: we revive it and produce from it grains for their food. We grow in it gardens of date palms, and grapes, and we cause springs to gush out therein. This is to provide them with fruits, and to let them manufacture with their own hands whatever they need. Would they be thankful? Glory be to the One who created all kinds of plants from the earth, as well as themselves, and other creations that they do not even know.
