Universality of Prayer
Interfaith Musings
Throughout the world in almost all religions, prayer is an essential. Whether it is ritualized with set words and motions, or the spontaneous outpouring of the heart, all believers, whatever their faith, pray.
The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful. — James 5:16
Prayer is as natural an expression of faith as breathing is of life. — Jonathan Edwards
LORD, hear my prayer; let my cry come to you. — Psalm 102:2
All of us call out in our own manner, each following the guidance of our own faith, our own heart.
We reverently pray for eternal harmony in the universe.
May the weather be seasonable, may the harvest be fruitful,
may countries exist in harmony, and may all people enjoy happiness.
— Buddhist Prayer
In these uncertain times many of us have found comfort in prayer, no matter what our faith base may be. For me, turning in prayer to that which is beyond human comprehension calms my heart and my head. It gives joy to my soul. And when my prayers are shared with others, somehow a special bond grows uniting us.
Thank you for reading this and for praying. May the Divine bless you and your life. And may you be safe.
