Do Little Things Count?

The Helping Project is a pledge our family took to help everyone we see that needs it for a year… and to write about what happens.

Most people think of helping as taking a student in school to the nurse, giving or donating money to the less fortunate, or standing up for someone or something, but we usually don’t think about small things, like handing a friend a dropped pencil or lifting a caterpillar out of the road. My question is: do these little things count?

I think they do. If there were a little graph counting how many good deeds you did in one day, the little thing(s) you did would definitely count. That is my opinion on what counts.

Helping everyone we see that needs it — for a year. We’re a family of 5 living in Silicon Valley. Aimee works in the Valley, Ben is a stay-at-home Dad/PhD student, Marcella is 9 and in 4th grade, Louisa is 7 and in 2nd grade, and Thea is 2 and goes to preschool a little bit.
