Are You Doing What Is Important?

Two days ago we experienced the Summer solstice — the longest day of the year. Looking at an insanely beautiful sunset (and a super-rare strawberry moon) here in Silicon Valley and realizing that half of 2016 is already behind us, I was reminded of the deeply insightful mantra and universal truth:

“The days are long but the years are short.”

With the year halfway behind us, I challenge us all to think about what we have achieved, what lies ahead of us and truly ask ourselves if what we are doing right now is the most impactful, most important, most rewarding work we can do. If it’s not — change it.

Now is the time to asses, course-correct and make sure 2016 will be nothing short of epic. In my notebook I have a page which is literally called “WTF IMPORTANT” — a page I revisit daily to remind myself what is truly important to me.

Never forget: As long as your days might be (and trust me — mine feel like they don’t end at the moment), the years will be short.
