People would think that there are Diwali blues, but oh no! We have Bhai Dooj, which is a festival for brothers and sisters. My only sibling is, thankfully, a younger brother who has a beautiful wife. They live for six months with their son and daughter in the USA and Canada.

When they are in India we do have fun when we meet. My sister-in-law (SIL) is the program manager for our outings.

Bhai Dooj was approaching and my SIL called and said that you have to drive each time from Delhi to the adjoining city of Gurugram. This time we will come to your house. They enjoy a meal in my house.

There is renovation in my neighbors who live upstairs and downstairs and they have shifted out and are staying elsewhere. So the stairs to reach my first-floor home are full of dust. There is a noise of breaking tiles and polishing and shining and making furniture which spoils the otherwise peaceful house that I love.

I expressed my inability to greet them in these terrible conditions. My SIL, the expert in making programs, invited me to a hotel where I had hosted them and other friends for lunch some time ago.
