The Game Changers!!

Saxx is in a long line of underwear brands that are changing the world of underwear. In many ways they are. I don’t think that a blog like mine would have had enough different types of underwear to do such great comparisons on if I tried to do it at an earlier time. I do wonder though. How many game changing brands can their be? How many companies can really produce what they claim are the best underwear in the world?

Don’t get me wrong. I love that they are trying. Underwear to me is like the one of the last free markets. You have goliaths like Hanes, and Fruit of the Loom against the these smaller upstarts. Like MeUndies and Mac Weldon and mid level companies like Saxx that are all working on making better underwear.

My main problem with things that claim to be game changers is you don’t have to make a claim that it is a game changer for it to be a game changer. I don’t need to be told that you are revolutionizing an industry that is in the middle of a revolution. Skip the gimmicks, and make awesome underwear. I don’t give a shit about you saying you are a game changer. I want to put on a pair of underwear and feel a difference. I don’t want to be told that you have on brand “x” of underwear. “Don’t you feel the difference with brand x”? No sir, I do not feel a difference just because you told me it was a different brand.

Welcome to Wedgie Land

I finally figured out the keys of these dam underwear. It took me three uses to figure it out. You have to pull them straight up into your butt-crack as much as you possibly can. No joke! I forced this pair of underwear so far up my ass. I am now my underwear’s bitch. If you don’t you are in for a day of pull ups with these.

I straight up felt uncomfortable on my morning walk. Not the uncomfortable you feel in standard clothes, but that uncomfortable you feel. When part of you is pretty sure you have been violated, but you don’t know if you can really claim it is a violation.

Before becoming the my underwear’s bitch. These things would roll down as soon as I put them on.

On the bright side. They did provide good sack support.

Itchy Much?

I took a picture to hopefully show why these things are so itchy. You can see through the light that the fabric is actually a mesh fabric. What is happening with the fabric. Is my hair gets caught between those holes, and it makes almost everything that it covers itchy.

The first time I put these on they were super itchy between my thighs. They then stayed pretty itchy throughout the day. The second time wearing these, they weren’t as bad till you hit the evening. Then it’s like the itch all came at once to declare it’s revenge. The itch declared it’s revenge straight in my crouch. The problem that made it worse the second time around was due to the wedgie you have to give yourself. The wedged fabric make it really hard to itche your itches.

Build Quality

Really good build Quality
They have a good cut in the fabric, and it is triple stitched. All the inseams are flat.

They do make good on the promise that you don’t chafe with their seams. I didn’t feel any issue around the seams. They are all really flat so no issues there. They do have the build quality in these that is pretty top notch. They even flattened out the seam of the waistband. Which is pretty impressive.

One thing that I did make note of is after a day of wear the waistband does get scrunched quite a bit. It doesn’t seem to be an issue initially. However, down the line. It might cause the waistband to start losing some durability.

Moisture and Odor Control

I’m really happy with the odor control that these things provided. I had to get really close (about an inch) to them to notice any odor at all. Considering they were jammed super far up my butt-crack and taint, they did a pretty damn good job. No sweaty ball smell leaked out of my pants at work. For me this is a win.

Moisture

Looks like I peed myself. But I didn’t just the undewaer at work.

They do perform as advertised for moisture wicking. While it is embarrassing that it looks like I peed myself while wearing these. They really are doing their job. They are pulling all that moisture from my ball-sack, and pushing it out. Unfortunately, “out” is the crotch of my pants.

It’s all about trade-offs. Do you want a soggy crotch? Or, do you want pee pants. For me I choose pee pants, because soggy crotch leads to chafe.

They are good at moisture control for really high sweats, and through the day. But they do keep a little sweat in the underwear. At the end of the day your nethers will probably still be a little moist.

Chafe

None.

Plain and simple. If you do the super wedgie you probably aren’t going to chafe. I did the wedgie on two different days. Both at 16000+ steps each day, and I didn’t get any chafing.

Verdict

If you can get past giving yourself a wedgie, and you don’t get itchy. I would recommend these as a buy.

The itching was the real key for me. The mesh they use, and my hair don’t mix. I was itching most of the day throughout the day. If I had an itch in my crotch. I had to just attempt to forget about it. The fabric would not separate so I couldn’t itch it. The comfort just wasn’t there for me. Still great to go on a hike with though. You aren’t all that comfortable to begin with on a hike. So, these will fit right in.

Why are they great?

  • ASTC: 16000+
  • They are champs when it comes to moisture wicking.
  • Great odor control
  • Good build quality, and design.

Who would want to stay clear?

  • Anyone who doesn’t want to feel violated by their underwear in order to get them to stay in place.
  • Anyone who is not on a budget.
  • Anyone who has moderately hairy legs. You are going to probably itch throughout the day.

EOD Pain Diagram

Just had to many itches. These are normally grey.
