While we do enjoy bringing home the party, responsibility is at the heart of what we do. HipBar was founded with a vision to help India drink wiser and we have inbuilt systems to ensure compliance and safety.
Here are the instances when a drink order is cancelled by HipBar.
When the recipient is underage
This is a strict no no. Not only does the delivery agent cancel the order, but also informs the customer support team who blacklist the user’s account, preventing him/her from accessing the HipBar app again.
When there’s an ID mismatch
Proxy doesn’t work here! The person who placed the order must collect it. Given the nature of the product involved, this is an essential requirement. It also ensures minimal customer dissatisfaction.
If the recipient is found to be a public servant discharging his duty
We have strict policies to not serve public servants while they are discharging their duties. This is against Excise laws. All delivery agents are given strict instructions and if pressurised by the customer, expected to inform the support team.
If the delivery location is a public place
All deliveries are made to residential locations only. No public places or government premises are permitted. In these cases, the agents cancel the order, inform the support team and return the product(s) to the retail store.
If the product is damaged/expired
We take this very seriously. While we cannot vet every product at the retail store, we encourage customers to check the product on arrival to ensure it is satisfactory. Though this is not a regular occurrence, we collate product feedback and share it with our retail partners.
