Poster Designs

For this project Brooke and I would like to work together on creating a poster that sends a message regarding mental health and mental illness. This is a subject that is very close to both of us and means a lot to us so we hope our poster can leave an impactful message. We do not have a specific message or slogan at the moment but we want our message to be along the lines of that there is beauty throughout the spectrum that is mental health. That there is beauty in the diversity and novelty of each of our brains, no matter what the chemical makeup. We wish to use the value of stimulation in order to send our message because it really focuses on novelty and challenge in life which I feel both embody mental health. — Coco Ramgopal

I was thinking about selling the idea of mental health and its importance through the value of stimulation, which has the defining goal of “excitement, novelty, and challenge in life.” Mental health is a topic that is really close to me and my life. I think that selling this idea is important to the modern society that we live in today. Also, with the value of stimulation at heart, I hope to acknowledge that mental health is novel: in our society today, mental health is “unusual” compared to the “normal” state of the mind. It’s also a challenge that so many people have to live with and overcome every day. Although it connects and brings people together, the journey for every person is different and individual. This journey, we hope, can be a beautiful process where humans triumph and are excited by the person that they are. I hope to work on the project with Coco since the topic is something very close to both of us. — Brooke Redington
