Calling all pilots. Mark your calendars for May 10th. Star Atlas is summoning all active pilots to participate in the largest coordinated Escape Velocity event. The goal: generate tons of loot and prizes for the community.

Star Atlas Calls All Pilots — That Means You Captain!

An official declaration from the Council of Peace

Dear Beloved Community Members,

We hereby summon every captain of Escape Velocity to join our COORDINATED TREASURE HUNT, to take place on May 10th, during the Special Atlas Brew! For this to work, we will be coordinating with the Guild’s leaderships to occupy every single square of Escape Velocity, and hit the scan button non stop for the duration of our brew!

Perhaps we will see the first Platinum, or above, drop?! Who knows! But we will certainly try!

Who Can Register?

Both Guilds and Individuals can register:

If you are a guild leader, message ZeSKK on the Star Atlas Discord with the number of fleets your guild can spawn.

If you are a guild member, wait for the instructions of your Guild Leader.

If you are not part of a guild, wait until we settle the guild spaces, and we will then announce the open space slots for the rest of the community to occupy!

How It Works

This event will require coordination between the entire community, guilds and individuals alike. The 10,201 sector Escape Velocity map will be divided up and assigned. The premise is that with the entirety of the map covered, the community will achieve a high rate of loot collection against loot loot dropped. With every captain scanning every sector of every minute, any randomly dropped loot will be quickly secured increasing the odds of rare loot for the entire community.

Wait, How Is Other Players Getting More Loot Better For Me?

While it may seem contrary to normal gaming mechanics, the more people concurrently scanning for treasure in Escape Velocity the better. Escape Velocity spawns loot randomly across the map. When loot is picked up, another loot is randomly spawned elsewhere. There is a cap to how much loot that can be spawned per minute. However, Chris Smith, Star Atlas Game Economist, has publicly stated that the community has only achieved about 5% of the maximum loot drop cap. This means that the community has barely scratched the surface on amount of loot that can be dropped at once.

Guilds That Have Answered The Call

It’s a great honor to serve your guild and its an even greater honor to serve Galia. Below are the Guilds that have already pledged their assistance on this historic day. Their names will written into the history books of Star Atlas.

This list will be update when guilds confirm their participation with Star Atlas community managers.
