The very first Star Atlas Guild Gaming Night is officially set to take place in Call of Duty Warzone on Sunday April 24 at 8:30 PM CST (April 25, 01:30 UTC). Guild Gaming Nights is an initiative led by long time Star Atlas citizen BDL Rampage to coordinate direct head-to-head gaming competition between the guilds of Star Atlas.

Guild Gaming Nights

The first in a long series of guild gaming nights will take place tonight in the popular first-person shooter Call of Duty: Warzone. While no prize has officially been announced, the winning guild of tonight’s matchup will receive bragging rights atop Guild Gaming Nights’ rolling leaderboard. Guilds will earn points for their performance during each event which will carry over towards each future event.

Guild Gaming Nights is hosted by BDL Rampage, member of The Atlessio Family. What started as an internal Atlessio Family gaming night has now evolved to include many of the most well known guilds in Star Atlas. The goal of Guild Gaming Nights is to be the “one-stop-shop for and all guild competitions”. Inspired by the sense of community that Atlessio Family gaming events brought, Guild Gaming Nights seeks to bring that integrated sense of community to the larger Star Atlas metaverse.

Through the gaming events, guilds will be able to get a sense of what their player’s strengths and weaknesses are. Guilds will also be able to see how they compare, from a gaming perspective to other guilds. This working knowledge should prove useful for the day when the full Star Atlas gameplay experience arrives

In the absence of any true Star Atlas multi-player game elements, guilds within Star Atlas have sought various ways to maintain the levels of engagement within the community. First, there was DAOCaster March Madness. Then there was the formation of Supernova Racing League. Final Frontier’s multi-platform FIFA ’22 tournament is also ongoing. Guild Gaming Nights is the next iteration in community sourced initiatives to bring together the Star Atlas community.

For the very first Guild Gaming Night, players from across the metaverse will compete in a 24-person battle-royale. Twelve two-person teams will square off in Call of Duty: Warzone, the popular first-person shooter by Activision.

Current participants include Equinox Starfleet, Dark Matter, Brasillian Star Atlas Alliance, Amarna City, Aephia Industries, and Final Frontier. To round out the 24-peron lobby, Guild Gaming Nights still has open spots for tonight’s events. Guild Gaming Nights is currently running a invite sprint where the winner will receive a Pearce X4. You can find more details about winning a Pearce X4 in the Guild Gaming Nights discord here.

Call of Duty: Warzone

Veterans of Call of Duty know that the objective of any online multiplayer match is to eliminate the enemy team(s) or accumulate enough points by playing objective like Capture the Flag or King of the Hill. Call of Duty: Warzone places a new twist on the series by incorporating the Battle Royale playstyle made popular by games like Fortnite and PUBG:Battlegrounds. In a Battle Royale game, a single player or teams attempts to become the last person standing and securing victory. Think The Hunger Games minus the love triangles and sob stories.

Players will not only need to have a mastery of first-person shooter mechanics, but also a reliable sense of when and where to attack within the warzone. Warzone is much more than trying to eliminate your enemies as quick as possible. Successful players properly manage the arena’s terrain, boundary zones, and resources to achieve tactical superiority over their opponents.

Its not about having the best gun, its how you use it.
