Coding with Scratch : Free Resource & Lesson Plan
There is a lot of buzz about coding in recent years. Almost 200 million students around the world were exposed to coding through the Hour of Code event to bring awareness to the importance of teaching coding from a young age.
As homeschoolers, we are fortunate to tailor our child’s curriculum to their passion and what we may feel is in the best of interest of their future. Although teaching coding is an aspiration for many homeschoolers, it is often hard to find a lesson plan or curriculum. There are many coding focused games and online tools available but there are not any instructions.
I recently found through a Facebook Group I belong in, a free course with detailed video instructions, project and quizes by edX. Homeschool Panda has created a lesson plan for it and all the links are included in the daily lesson.
To IMPORT the lesson plan:
- Log into Homeschool Panda.
- Click on Lesson Plan from the left hand pane.
- Click on Import Lesson from the top right.
- Input the shared lesson plan link: https://app.homeschoolpanda.com/lessons/export/5bc53ffed9b98ee00f66 and click on Import Lesson.
