Ever since I learned about it from a Ryan Holiday YouTube video, I’ve been a fan of Stoicism. Before I understood the deeper philosophical roots and historical background, I knew these people were onto something.
Then, I started applying it to my life.
Stoicism quickly became a blistering reality check accomplished for my mind and body – changing the way I approach everything.
I finished out last year reading Reasons Not to Worry by Brigid Delaney. This book was an incredible introduction to what Stoicism can look like in the modern world. She discussed how she brought into her work, into the things she was struggling with, into her friendships.
It really challenged me to not just learn about these concepts, but to begin applying them to my life.
Then, in the past week, I started to really need them. Changes are happening in both of my jobs, I’m preparing to get married, I have shifts in family dynamics going on.
