This week I’d like to ask you for your opinions on a subject I’ve long debated… is there a separation between writer and words once they are published and out in the world?
The recent ruling on womanhood in the UK has brought the debate back into my mind as my feed is flooded (again) with memes and angry venting about JK Rowling and her role in the treatment of trans people and public discourse around trans rights, but she is not the only problematic writer.
Roald Dahl has been brought up numerous times in some of the home education groups I’m a part of, as a purveyor of misogyny and prejudice, creating writing that we are potentially harming our children by exposing them to.
