Holiday traditions are everywhere, it’s inescapable but one that seems to have faded over time is card giving.

Has it fallen to the advances of technology as we steadily move from print to digital, or has it been broken by the immediacy we crave in our fast paced world?

Am I just an old romantic who loves the time, care and attention that goes into making or buying the perfect card, or even moreso, writing a letter on real paper and feeling the distant touch of a friend or loved one through the ink spilled?

Who was the last person you sent a letter to?

What was the last one you received?

Do you have a box hidden away somewhere of keepsakes and would there be handwritten notes inside?

Deep inside the boxes of Christmas decorations that wait for me each year in my attic, are just a few special cards. Those from my dad and other loved ones, no longer present at my table but present nonetheless in the love they shared with me in years past.
