The Honest Perspective Weekly Prompt — September 2nd — 8th
Let’s get inspired.
The whole point behind creating this publication was to create a space in which we as a collective could explore different perspectives on all the areas of our daily lives.
Increasingly we live within echo chambers. Our in person social networks get steadily smaller as we age and finding people with different opinions and new ideas isn’t an everyday occurrence. Our social media platforms connect us to the global potential but algorithms keep us fenced in with similarly minded people and seeing content we’ve already shown we respond to.
Breaking out of these loops takes deliberate action and intentional energy many of us just don’t have. That is why I’d like this week to be all about our individual unpopular opinions.
What do you not bring up in conversation because you don’t want to deal with the fall out, or perhaps you’ve built a curated image of yourself and you don’t want to disturb that. It could be your opinion on social media and screen time, hustle culture, the gender debate, or whether pineapple belongs on pizza.
What do you believe that others might not want to hear?
Is going against the mainstream really that bad?
