Sometimes the noise of our world is so loud, it drowns out the still, small voice that’s trying to save us.

This creative piece is about finding that sacred place where healing lives — in the quiet, in nature, in the presence of the Divine.

Perhaps you need that place, too.

I try too hard.
It goes against my nature,
yet I still do.

What compels me is unnatural
but familiar,
a groove well worn.
Easy to slip into,
difficult to change.

duty
culture
society
dysfunction

The expectations silently scream at me
from every direction
and every source,
all except one.

One who quietly beckons.

So I take time away
and retreat to the woods,
to that one source of quiet
where peace still lives.
