POETRY

As Though Starlight

Were becoming love

What we need to know in life
is hidden from our gaze,
impossible to touch, explain or analyze,
realized only in those moments
that so lift our heart
they become somehow part of us,
those sudden intuitions
as though starlight were becoming love,
like when we gaze at stars
across the endless sky
and catch a glimpse of something
almost inexpressible,
a universal soul
beneath the surface of the everyday
gifting us some clarity and wisdom,
its song of silence and eternity
known like love is known.

It’s the silent whisper of the timeless
reminding us life’s more beautiful
than we can say in words,
reminding us to sometimes
let the conscious silence find us,
let the wisdom touch our heart
and re-enchant our soul,
let the poetry of silence
help us know
the eternal
somehow touching
every moment,
somehow woven
all through every heart,
the soul of the universe
living as a human being,
experiencing life inside us,
knowing something of its own
intelligence and beauty
reflected in the world.

Something in the silence
like universal conscious light,
the almost unknowable unseen
inside all life,
brings us new eyes to see the world
and a heart that knows
we’re woven through the stars
with every breath and every moment,
and while we still have life,
sudden insights
emerging from the universal soul,
show us the intelligence
bringing inspiration
to our intuitive ear
and meaning into now,
as though the whisper of eternity
were weaving wildflowers in our soul,
while every moment’s written
into who we are
and who we all become.
