Sometimes it’s the Small Things

That remind us

While we have life
and we can feel the morning sun
on our face,
there are moments
when the wind and sky
seem to weave all through our being
and our heart knows
their endless space and freedom,
as though the whole universe
were present in our every breath
and every moment,
gifting us some wisdom in the silence,
some crucial clarity and insight,
reminding us
we all bring something
to this life
that only we can bring,
something that heals our world
while we also heal our heart.

Even in troubled times,
there’s still sunlight dancing
on the surface of the ocean,
still wildflowers and the song of birds,
and sometimes it’s the small things
that remind us
life’s more beautiful
than we can say in words,
and somehow we’ll find the inspiration
to help us change our world,
help us find some meaning
in the silence of the inner path
inside us.

And when there’s insight
so profound it can’t be said,
as though the universe were knowing
what it is to live our human life,
an inner poetry of realization
brings new meaning,
while the cry of birds
in the soft, early light
blends into our becoming,
and the whisper of intuition
like the echo of an unheard sound
weaves a flower inside our heart
as clouds slowly stream
across the sky.
