rising from earth’s tidal force
slashing midnight’s potent darkness
glorious stamina. garners daylight
smoothing liquid effulgence
beyond its kind
stars wink joyous approval
every scale stands its worth
thrashing tail agile fins
head knows brilliance
sees through cycles riverine
life energy icon
Koi legend

scales. flesh. skin.
crunches. tender~~
warm. moist. fresh
fragrant shiso nestles~~
clever plum sauce
accents~~partners~~
oh! delicious savoriness
hugs divine Koi shadows
gently salty. discreetly tart.
subtle sweetness~~
impeccable

how to make every part useful
how to mark every piece’s marvels
massive waters enthralling existence
under the cool moon
you cease not to Be

in quietude. or roaring waterfall

don’t you ache for the Koi
aurora amplified. shadow ripples
legend lives~~
isn’t that what we secretly want?

diving birds devour without decorum
humans curate a legacy*

These were astounding bites. I mean pupils dilating, senses awakening, lips quivering level of astounding. And I’ve tasted an outstanding dish or two. Hubby and I celebrated an unforgettable wedding anniversary.
