Standard Chartered chooses The Warsaw HUB
British bank Standard Chartered will open its global service centre in The Warsaw HUB, the complex is being built in Warsaw’s Wola district. Ultimately, the global institution will occupy 3,600 sqm of office space in the project. The agreement has been signed for 10 years.
Standard Chartered, one of the leading global banks, has chosen The Warsaw HUB for its global service centre, Standard Chartered Global Business Services. As a result, Warsaw will join four other locations with similar service centres that already operate in China, Malaysia, and India. The British bank has leased 3,600 sqm for 10 years, with the target headcount of 750.
“We are honoured that such a prestigious financial brand has chosen The Warsaw HUB for its office. Warsaw will also benefit from this since Standard Chartered has decided to open its service centre to focus on its European and American clients. This is a clear illustration of the Polish capital’s position in the world of business and the strength of the local property market, which is unrivalled in this part of the continent,” says Jarosław Zagórski, Commercial and Business Development Director, Ghelamco Poland.
“As we open our new office in Poland, we believe being the first office tenant to such a modern and innovative building will make us an attractively located employer and help encourage the talented people we are recruiting to join us. We are delighted to have signed a long-term lease for our permanent office in Warsaw. Once completed we look forward to being in The Warsaw HUB as it becomes a permanent addition to Warsaw’s impressive skyline,” said Rowena Everson, CEO, Standard Chartered Global Business Services.
Standard Chartered’s newly created office is currently operating adjacent to The Warsaw HUB, in 25a Towarowa Street. The transaction was brokered by consulting company CBRE, tenant exclusive agent.
“We are delighted to take part in the event of such importance to Standard Chartered, namely the establishment of the first Polish service centre. We are grateful to the customer for their trust put in our company. The market analyses allowed us to find the most optimum, in business terms, location for our customer’s new branch. It is one of few office buildings in Warsaw offering direct access to the underground and many other amenities for the tenants. We believe that the location will contribute to further growth of Standard Chartered,” says Mikołaj Sznajder, Head of Office Division, CBRE.
Standard Chartered has joined the continuously growing group of The Warsaw HUB tenants. So far companies and brands such as InterContinental Hotels Group, Zdrofit or Olimp have announced opening their offices, hotels or branches in the building. Agreements or letters of intent have already been signed for 1/3 of the space in the Warsaw HUB.
