Mckenzie Morgan is a well-known name around Howard High School. Not only do her teachers and classmates know McKenzie, her name is also heard in announcements and at games. She is known for being welcoming to both her high school and middle school peers.

Despite having to transition to high school during an unexpected time like the pandemic, McKenzie has not let that affect her future plans.

Let’s get to know our first freshman spotlight, 14-year-old McKenzie Morgan!

Q- What were you looking forward to when transitioning from middle school to high school?

A- Well in middle school, kids weren’t really focused on their grades so I thought high school would be different. I was looking forward to kids…who had similar attributes as me.

Q- What career path are you taking?

A- I want to do photography. I’m taking classes now, and then next year I’m joining a club for Howard photography.

Q- You said you’re going to do photography after high school.

A-Yes.

Q-Do you have a specific college or school that you are going to?

A- UCLA, but also, I want to do a business degree as well. And I want to play volleyball for that school.

As a freshman, McKenzie already has a career goal in mind and is taking steps towards making it a reality.

Q- What is your favorite subject?

A- ELA and American Government.

Q- Do you play any sports?

A- YES!

Q- What sports are you interested in and currently playing?

A- I play volleyball and am looking forward to doing track.

Q- What are your favorite sports teams?

A- I like the Golden States Warriors for basketball, and the Eagles for football..

Q- Are you enjoying your freshman year so far?

A- Yes

Q- Would you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert?

A- An Introvert.

Q- Do you prefer homemade food or takeout?

A- Takeout.

Q- What is your favorite restaurant?

A- Chick-Fil-A

McKenzie said she is a positive person who is willing to make friends with anyone. She is devoted to her work, clubs, and sports. She said she hopes that she can be a photographer for Howard events and use her experience to work towards her goal of being a professional photographer.
