Howard DECA takes on State!

Howard DECA truly had a blast at the State SCD Conference and brought home many state awards. I am truly happy for every DECA scholar.
Senior Jalaya Denmark competed in Theme Speech at the state competition last week. She says,
“My favorite part about the trip is being with her friends, exploring the hotel and meeting competitors from other schools.”
Denmark also says to students interested in competing next year,
“Do not let the amount of students competing intimidate you. There are nearly 50 categories. So, there is something for everyone.”
Patrice Awotunde, Heien Chang and Koren Davis placed first in Chapter Chronicles. Lilian Harper placed first in Principles of Marketing. Layla Floyd placed second in Job Interview and Joshua Threlkeld placed ninth in Principles of Finance. Our school store also became gold certified which is the highest certification for a School Based Enterprise. They are all headed to our International Conference in Orlando in April! Please congratulate them when you see them.
