All Hail the Queen of the Beyhive — THV 13th Ed.

“If y’all came to slay, sing along with me,” Queen B said before nailing her dance steps.

STORY

Last Night’s VMAs might just be one of the most memorable. From Beyonce and Blue Ivy’s serenading red carpet appearance, to Kim Kardashian cracking up when her hubby jokes about Rob Jay and Drake dropping the L-word. So much to keep us entertained till next year’s event.

ALL HAIL THE QUEEN OF THE BEYHIVE

Who wears a dress with a feather-winged collar? Beyonce. She arrived last night in a semi-see through gown, and wearing $13 million worth of diamonds…Okayyy. She also brought along her little princess Blue Ivy, who looked stunning in a champagne cocktail dress which she wore with nude sneakers. That was just the red carpet. Before SWEEPING home 8 awards, she brought Lemonade on stage… you know what next. OH! She sealed her performance with a kiss.

FINALLY! DRAKE TELLS IT ALL BUT DOESN’T SEAL IT WITH A KISS

Last week, Drake bought an entire billboard to congratulate Rihanna on her Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. So MTV clearly thought out he was the best person to present her this award, and thankfully he didn’t fail us. He used the L-word over four times but all what I remember is him saying She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22-years-old. Meanwhile Rihanna in her speech thanked her fans, family, and her country Barbados saying it was the first time an award of that kind will get anywhere close to her country.

THIS COULDN’T HAVE ENDED WITHOUT…

Kanye giving us some of his creative jokes. He walks unto the stage with that Taylor Swift lyric in “Famous” playing in the background. Beginning of Yeezy trouble. He called out Amber Rose who was in the crowd, and Kim Kardashian hysterically laughed when he joked about Ray J being in his “Famous” video.

VMAs ARE OVER. BACK TO EVERYDAY AFRO HAIR STRUGGLES

Black pupils in Pretoria Girls High have been asked to straighten their hair to school and many other hair policies introduced which show racial discrimination. #StopRacismAtPretoriaGirlsHigh was trending on social media together with Videos and photographs of pupils protesting at the school. Leave that with me and my team. It will be done. We won’t disappoint, said the Gauteng Education MEC PanyazaLesufi. Let it be done Sir!

A WORD FOR THAT FRIEND OF YOURS ALL OVER THE PLACE ABOUT HER MSC FROM PANAFRIC

Thought this whole thing was a political stunt my dear friend, no way. The Minister of Higher Education,Jacques Fame Ndongo on 19th August, 2016, called out the Pan African Institute for Development for not being accredited. Two days later, the authorities of PAID requested for a meeting to discuss the accreditation process of their institution. The Minister granted them the request, and the meeting was presided over by the Secretary General of the Minister of Higher Education. An inspection team will visit the campus on 1st September, 2016 after which further decisions will be taken.

HERE’S WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU WANT TO REAP WHERE YOU DID NOT SOW

Someone has to get caught. A few days to the end of training, the Delegate General for National Security in Cameroon, Martin Mbarga Nguélé dismissed 8 new police trainees undergoing training at the Police Training Centre in Mutengene. Reason being that they falsified their documents. This is thanks to a commission which was put in place to check the status of each trainee and ensure order.

THIS PRESIDENT ALSO KNOWS A THING ABOUT REAPING AND SOWING

92-year-old Robert Mugabe ordered for the arrest of his country’s Olympic team, upon their arrival from Rio. Calling them useless for coming back home without a single medal. He even said it was a soft loan which had been granted the athletes to go act as tourists in Rio. Is this way too far, or a lesson?

WHY ARE THESE GUYS ALL OVER THE NEWS?

These days, it’s either Uber is battling with a driver over a lawsuit or over their finances. This time, it has suspended its activities in Abu Dhabi after reportedly arresting and detaining about 50 drivers. News as to why the drivers were arrested is still not known. But one sure thing is this is a temporary move.
