Presentation by Illinois Blockchain Initiative, Hashed Health & State of Delaware from (MESC) 2017

Illinois and Delaware came together on August 18th to share Blockchain’s Transformational Potential for Medicaid out at the MSEC 2017 conference in Baltimore, MD.

The national MESC, Medicaid Enterprise Systems Conference, (formerly the Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) Conference) is an annual meeting for State, Federal and private sector individuals to provide opportunities for the exchange of ideas related to Medicaid systems and heath policy affected by those systems.

The states collaborated and shared several innovative solutions focused on using Blockchains for Healthcare Provider Registries and Physician “Smart” Pre-Authorizations.

Although, the long-term benefits of Blockchain for industries, the economy and society are clear, Blockchains and Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs) are maturing but still a somewhat nascent technology. Governments can play a role in catalyzing its maturity as a technology by supporting an effective eco-system and energizing grassroots developer innovation.
