Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT): Request for Information (RFI)
Public Sector Distributed Ledger and Blockchain Applications
Illinois recently announced a consortium of Illinois state and county agencies, known as the Illinois Blockchain Initiative, who will collaborate to explore innovations presented by blockchain and distributed ledger technology. The Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is actively engaged in this effort.
The goal of the initiative is to determine if this groundbreaking technology can be leveraged to create more efficient, integrated and trusted state services, while providing a welcoming environment for the blockchain community. Blockchain and distributed ledger technology has the potential to transform the delivery of public and private services, redefine the relationship between government and the citizen in terms of data sharing, transparency and trust, and make a leading contribution to the State’s digital transformation.
As part of this effort, the Illinois Blockchain Initiative recently published on the Illinois Procurement Bulletin (IPB) a Request for Information (RFI) to invite participants to submit non-price information about blockchain and distributed ledger technology. The RFI’s reference number and title on the IPB are: 22039823 — Public Sector Distributed Ledger and Blockchain Applications.
The Illinois Procurement Bulletin is the official repository of the RFI and any other supplemental information which may be issued. Interested parties should register on the IPB to obtain the latest, official information and requirements concerning the RFI.
