Phoebe Waller-Bridge is launching her own custom bottle of gin inspired by the award-winning play Fleabag.

This limited edition spirit was created in collaboration with Edinburgh Gin and designed by the Fleabag creator and actress. According to Edinburgh Gin’s website, it will tell “the inside story of Fleabag and its connection to our home city of Edinburgh, from her one-woman play to global success.”

The bottle itself will feature an illustration of Waller-Bridge’s central character looking up at the Edinburgh night sky. The design will also include inscriptions of stand-out lines from the show. This includes Fleabag’s heartfelt declaration “I love you,” alongside the words “It’ll pass” handwritten by her co-star Andrew Scott, referencing the moment the pair go their separate ways.

All profits will be donated to emerging artists taking part in this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Waller-Bridge and Edinburgh Gin hope they will raise over £150,000.

Funds will then be used to support artists’ expenses such as travel, accommodation, rehearsals spaces and venue costs.

In an interview with the Independent, Waller-Bridge discusses how these profits will benefit the festival after 16 months of closure: “I hope every purchase inspires outrageous and creative conversations over ice while bringing the beloved Fringe festival back to life.”

The first bottles will go on sale on 20 July for those who sign up in advance through Edinburgh Gin’s website.
