The Orielles make infectious indie pop while taking inspiration from dance music. It’s a distinctive cocktail, but they make it look easy with sweet harmonies and stunning production. This formula worked brilliantly on last years’ floorfillers ‘Let Your Dogtooth Grow’ and ‘Sugar Tastes Like Salt’, and they’ve taken things up a notch on new single ‘Blue Suitcase (Disco Wrist)’. The track is from their debut album Silver Dollar Moment.

‘Blue Suitcase (Disco Wrist)’ is an upbeat disco banger that blends The Orielles’ influences beautifully. There’s hints of Saint Etienne in here, along with a funky bassline and bells that are reminiscent of a hot summers day. The track is topped off by Esme’s ethereal vocals, which contain a lot of reverb. It’s a fresh organic approach that doesn’t sound like anything else, and this is one of the reasons why they’re going to blow up in 2018.

Do yourself a favour and listen to ‘Blue Suitcase (Disco Wrist)’ because it’s one of the best tracks The Orielles have written, and it’s guaranteed to brighten up your day.
