From the head-turning, ever-so-confusing, but extremely polarizing name, to the mark of individual styles and voices, the up-and-coming girl group BOYS WORLD — meaning “best of yourself” — continues to astound with each new single release.

Introducing Olivia Ruby, Queenie Mae, Lillian Kay, Elana Carceres and Makhyli, BOYS WORLD is clad in pastel neon and glitter, with a well-established fanbase already in the works.

Their first single ‘Girlfriends’ peaks at 1.3M views on YouTube. Their second single ‘Wingman’ follows close, already amassing 800K plus views, and counting. It’s safe to say that the cataclysmic start of their career has been a success.

Not even a full two months since ‘Wingman’ first came out, they’re already back again with another single. Pop and riveting, and very true to the sound BOYS WORLD have established so far; ‘Tiptoe’ is a little more mature in theme and lyricism compared to ‘Girlfriends’ and ‘Wingman’.

But the track is still chock-full of quotable one-liners that result in an infectious form of simplicity. They rhyme, and slip and slide with ease from one line to the next. The message is simple; dancing around romance, trying to play games of hard-to-get and keeping-it-cool.

It helps that the vocal arrangement is specifically tailored to enhance the tone and depth of each member’s voice. Their melodies and ad-libs create immersive dimensions that gives the rhythmic and sleek production a run for its money. Lillian in particular strikes a delicate balance between bashful and shy, with sly and teasing harmonies. Makhyli’s rap verse which closes the track is nothing to scoff at either.

It is by definition short and sweet, and preps the song for an abrupt end, leaving you wanting more. And so, that’s one checked off of their list of genres they want to cover.

Overall, the song is slow and steady, dark with traces of enigmatic vibrations. In the world of millennial girl groups and K-Pop on the rise with never faltering vocals and choreography-there’s a market for BOYS WORLD. Far from just a talented group of girls singing and dancing to an oversaturated market; they represent a new form of music artistry.

From immense TikTok popularity, to curating an image that closely resembles that of Winx Club for their generation, BOYS WORLD is on track to redefine what it means to be a girl group. And ‘Tiptoe’ might just be the first step in that direction.
