A new month a new theme. This month Sustainable Diets is the Hivos supported channel we focus on. Videos about new ways of producing, distributing, cooking and consuming healthy, diverse and sustainable food. Where are the examples of beginnings of solutions to big global problems? Watch the site, there are already 25 videos waiting for you. Here are 3 examples. And add videos yourself!

Kenya
Reducing hunger

This month the international team of VPRO’s Metropolis is at work again, making local portraits from all over the world. Carren is our woman in Kenya, she reports on sack gardening in her country. A simple way of making a city fertile. Local power!

Bangladesh
Promoting clean food & water

In Bangladesh the government promotes healthy food by educating the street food vendors a lot of the local people rely on. They are being taught basic hygiene, how to produce clean food and water. And with commercial succes too!

Lesotho
Safe cooking

400.000 (!) people a year die from indoor smoke pollution. African Clean Energy works on a solution by producing the ACE, a smokeless, safe, solar powered and energy efficient cooking device. Not only can you cook on the ACE 1, you can power lamps and mobile phones with it too!

OK that’s it for this week, friends of innovation. There’s lots more interesting stuff on this subject on our site. So go to TIS.tv and watch! And keep on submitting, keep on voting, keep on innovating. Questions? Remarks? Ideas? hello@tis.tv is the address! From TIS with love, Erwin Blom.
